Richard Hanna: Mandorla
Mandoria is an exhibition of paintings, poetry and music by Richard Hanna.
A ‘Mandorla’ is a form of sacred geometry where two circles overlap and create a third space, an almond shaped interstice called a ‘Mandorla’. In Celtic lore it is the symbol of imagination and the source of all inspiration.
Richard Hanna regards the symbol as a gateway. In this exhibition of paintings, poetry, and music he explores the symbolic, visual, and musical poetics of the shape.
A CD will be launched at the opening, each of the 10 tracks corresponding to a painting in the exhibition.
