Long Cloud Youth Theatre - Summer School 2010

Long Cloud Youth Theatre is calling for auditionees for its summer school intake.

The company is looking for ambitious, talented and motivated 15-25 year olds who want to embark on a six week rollercoaster ride of making theatre together.

The participants will get intensive training in voice, movement and
acting, as well as working towards a professional stage production at
Downstage Theatre, one of New Zealand's leading theatres.

Full time rehearsals and training start from 11th January 2010. 'Vernon God Little' opens on Thu 4th February and runs until Sat 13th February.

The play Vernon God Little tells the adventurous story of Vernon who
is fifteen years old and lives with his mother in Martirio, a
flea-bitten Texan town. His best friend just massacred sixteen of
their classmates before killing himself. The town wants vengeance and
turns its sight on Vernon. “See what happens now I’m in trouble. See
the awesome power of Trouble. Trouble f**ken rocks.”

The summer school accepts a maximum of 30 students. To sign up for an audition, please send name, contact details, age and a short description of theatre/drama background to: longcloudyouththeatre@gmail.com.

This application must be received by Mon 23 November 2009. The audition will be held on Sat 28th November 2009 (10am-4pm) at Wellington Performing Arts Centre (36 Vivian St).
