The Secret Collections Tour

Take a glimpse below deck and view the Waikato Museum Collection. Find out how the staff protect and store valuable art and artifacts.

Not usually open for public viewing, our staff will guide you through a 30-minute tour of the collection areas where you can see artwork by Ralph Hotere and Lindauer, artifacts from the Solomon Islands, local historical items and more.

This is also a great chance to gain an understanding of the methods the museum uses to protect our artifacts and artworks.

Entry is restricted to 12 people, bookings on 06 838 6553.
These tours can be arranged at any time between 10:00 am and 4:30 pm, seven days, to suit the needs of you, your friends, school, group, family, or colleagues.

Just call 07 838 6553 to arrange a time to take our tours. A minimum of 48 hrs notice is advised to avoid disappointment. Minimum of 4 people per booking.
