Indigenous Weavers Invitational 2010

Te Roopu Raranga Whatu o Aotearoa - Maori Weavers of New Zealand invites you to register for the upcoming "Indigenous Weavers Invitational - weaving symposium”, January 8 – 13; 2010. This will be a world gathering of weavers’ expert in traditional and contemporary weaving.

This event is estimated to attract at least 150 weavers and international speakers to explore techniques and concepts of weaving through forum presentations, exhibition, practical workshops as well as excursions to iconic landscapes that contribute to narratives in the fibre arts and viewing archival film footage.

The focus of this symposium is the retention of cultural knowledge and the use of educational tools and processes for conserving natural weaving resources for future generations.

$450 for full registrations including all meals and marae accommodation. Dailey rates are $50 per day, maximum 2 days and are valid from 8.30am until 4pm. This includes the midday meal but no accommodation. All prices include GST.

This includes a conference pack, meals for the duration of the Symposium and marae accommodation.
