Footprints - Ara Tuturu
Footprints Te Ara Tuturu shows man's development and impact on this region from pre-historic times through to the colonisation of this area by Maori, and then Europeans.
This exhibition is based on an archaeological survey undertaken on the former site of the Kaiti Freezing Works in 1994. Objects and findings uncovered on this 'dig' provide the basis for displays while focussing on the gradual changes to the environment over the course of 1000 years.
