Storylines
Storylines Children's Literature Charitable Trust of New Zealand promotes public awareness of the importance of reading and literature for all children and aims to ensure children in New Zealand have access to high quality literature. Storylines supports writers and illustrators of literature for children in New Zealand.
Storylines networks with organisations and agencies throughout New Zealand who are concerned with children's literature and literacy.
We organise and promote events such as the Storylines Festival that bring children and families together with writers and illustrators.
Storylines recognises outstanding contributions to children's literature through national awards such as the Margaret Mahy Lecture Medal Award and the Betty Gilderdale Award. We also award the Gaelyn Gordon Award for a Much-Loved Book and encourage developing writers through the Tom Fitzgibbon Award and the Joy Cowley Award.
Storylines is the National Section of IBBY, a non-profit organisation which represents a network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.
