Records and Archives Week: Archives and Records Association of New Zealand
Records and Archives Week celebrates the importance of records, archives, and the recordkeeping professions.
The theme for 2008 is ‘Protect your Records’. Everyone keeps records of some sort. Your records might be files, photographs, or plans. They might be emails or videotapes. The thing they have in common is that we would hate to lose them.
Losing family records like photographs can be tragic. Losing business records like contracts can be very expensive. Yet there are simple things you can do to protect your records, and professionals like archivists and records managers can help you to do it.
ARANZ is an incorporated society, established in 1976, with the aim of promoting the understanding and importance of records and archives in New Zealand.
Our members include archivists, record keepers, librarians and other information managers, genealogists, historians, teachers, museum and art gallery curators, religious groups, professional associations, historical societies, businesses, local and central government agencies and many others who are interested in the preservation and use of archives and records.
