Pacific Underground

Established in 1993, Pacific Underground's (PU) most well known shows include "Island Summer", "Soul Defined", "Fresh Off The Boat", "Romeo and Tusi", "Dawn Raids". PU also hosts the Pacific Arts Festival of Christchurch held annually in February.

Pacific Underground is known as the training ground for some of NZ's most talented artists such as Oscar Kightley (BroTown, Sione's Wedding), Malo Luafutu (Scribe), Anton Carter (Antsman, Rhombus), Dallas Tamaira (Fat Freddy's Drop), Shimpal Lelisi, David Fane, Joy Vaele and Posenai Mavaega.

Pacific Undergound aims to tell stories of Pasifika peoples living and growing up in Aotearoa by developing music and theatre shows that will entertain, uplift, promote and raise awareness of Pasifika peoples locally and globally.
