Fiona Pears: Fire and Light Tour - Palmerston North

Talented New Zealand violinist Fiona Pears is celebrating the release of her new CD 'Fire and Light' with shows around the country.

Fiona will be taking her amazing Kiwi band with her featuring Greg Donaldson on Drums, Pete Fleming on Double Bass, Tyson Smith on Guitar and Ian Tilley on Piano.

Fiona’s early career as a musician saw her winning two national secondary school music competitions, one in Piano and the other in Violin and performing concertos with the Christchurch Youth Orchestra; and Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.

When Fiona was eighteen she became part of the well-known Blue Swing Quartet, recording for television and radio and touring the length and breadth of New Zealand.

Fiona has opened for artists such as Tony Bennett, Ottmar Liebert and the late Victor Bourge. She has also recorded for many artists around NZ including recording string backings on Bic Runga's album, ‘Beautiful Collision’, and arranging and recording on Hayley Westenra's second CD, ‘Odyssey’.

Fire and Light is released October 18th.
