Bridge to Bridge
The Rollo’s Marine Yamaha Bridge to Bridge Water Ski Classic is back for 2008. It is the largest event of its type in the country and attracts boats and competitors from all over the North & South Islands as well as Australia.
It is the 25th running of this iconic Waikato event which features water ski racing at all levels from under 13s to over 40s, novice to expert. There are many different events throughout the weekend including Family Class, Powerboat Sprints, Jetski and Thundercat Races and the main event on Sunday afternoon, the Rollo’s Marine Yamaha Long Race that is for the ski racing elite to run from Cambridge to Taupiri and return to Hamilton. Boats and skiers travel at speeds over 100 MPH (160 KPH) up and down the Waikato River throughout the weekend.
