Auckland Seafood Festival

The Auckland Seafood Festival has moved to Auckland Anniversary Weekend, and this year will be bigger and better in every way!

Running over three days instead of two, The 2009 Auckland Seafood Festival will see entertainment, education and culture compliment the delicious seafood at this celebration of the fruits of the sea.

The event will continue to be carbon neutral and the popular Blessing of the Fleet ceremony and the Greasy Pole contest will return. A new competition stage will be introduced featuring fun events such as fish filleting and oyster shucking competitions.

Proceeds from the 2009 Auckland Seafood Festival will go towards the fight against ‘P’. Our aim is to reduce the prevalence of methamphetamine in New Zealand communities, thereby protecting people, preventing social harms and strengthening communities.
