Anna Crawley: Gravity
The NKB Gallery is proud to host Anna Crawley’s show - Gravity as its first solo exhibition since their grand opening in September.
Gravity will be on display from the 23rd October 2008 to 13th of November 2008. Exhibition opening preview from 6pm on Thursday 23rd of October.
Crawley is an artist of Samoan heritage, her work is predominantly horizontal. She uses gravity to juxtapose her paint, technique and composition to canvas.
Her work has an ethereal quality, where textures and colours merge into sensuous forms, and symbols. Crawley likes the idea that her work is a ‘slippage’ between two identities, painting/sculpture and art/culture.
The NKB Gallery began with two back to back group shows of exquisite work from artists such as Michael Smither, Ruth Cole, Gavin Hurley and Peter Siddell.
