Out of the Blue
This New Zealand movie is set to tell one of our stories from our past. Out of the Blue documents one of the darkest moments in New Zealand's history.
Out of the Blue is based on the Aramoana Massacre that occurred on 13 November and 14 November 1990. Resident David Gray, an unemployed gun collector, went on a rampage in which 13 people were shot dead, before Gray himself was shot by police.
Directed by Robert Sarkies (Scarfies), the movie was written by Graham Tetley (Vigil) based on the novel 'Aramoana - 22 Hours Of Terror' by Bill O'Brien.
The film stars Karl Urban, Mathew Sunderland, Lois Lawn, Simon Ferry, Tandi Wright, Paul Glover, William Kircher, Georgina Fabish, Fayth Rasmussen.
The film features New Zealand music by Pixie Williams & The Ruru Karaitiana Quartet, Coconut Rough, and Th'Dudes'. The beautiful 'I Will Not Let You Down' from Don McGlashan's album Warm Hand is played over the closing credits.
