Neoismist Press - Catalyst
Neoismist Press is a small publishing label based in the extinct volcano of Lyttelton on Banks Peninsula.
Neoismist Press publishes the literary/art journal Catalyst twice annually featuring poetry, fiction, experimental writing, spoken word on CD and visual art/design from around NZ and the world.
In 2008 NP published a bilingual anthology of poetry in English & Spanish representing poets from Cuba and New Zealand called Alchemy of the Islands. The anthology also featured original art work from Christchurch artists Rua Pick and Helen Taylor and was launched at the Christchurch Art Gallery with bilingual readings from featured poets.
Other releases include ten-year/ten-book poetry project 10x(10+-10)=0, the Catalyst Spoken Word Series on CD featuring poets collaborating with musicians and the pocket edition 'Porno-ku' of 'erotic' haiku.
Neoismist Press/Catalyst host regular poetry open mics and visiting writers & poets events.
Neoismist are also the founders and hosts of Poetry Idol, the poetry slam event featured in the Christchurch Writers Festival.
