National Services Te Paerangi
National Services Te Paerangi is a unit within the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa. Their mission is to strengthen the museum sector by providing practical and strategic help to museums and iwi throughout Aotearoa New Zealand.
They offer support, advice, and practical assistance on museum matters such as:
• Governance, management, and planning
• Collection care
• Exhibitions and other public services
• Customer service
• Relationships with communities.
Their programmes and services include:
• The New Zealand Museums Standards Scheme Ngā Kaupapa Whaimana a Ngā Whare Taonga o Aotearoa
• He Rauemi Resource Guides, a series of practical guides on various aspects of museum practice
• Practical training opportunities
• Freephone helpline 0508 NSTP HELP (0508 678 743)
• Tour of national and international experts
• A grants programme that is available for projects with long-term sustainable outcomes initiated by museums and iwi within New Zealand.
