It's the Museum of Wellington City and Sea's 10th Birthday!

The Museum of Wellington is an eccentric little gem crammed with curios, stories and artefacts from Wellington's rich history. It turns ten years old this month, so what better way to celebrate than with a most curiouser and curiouser party!

'10 Years in Wonderland ' showcases the quirkier and more unusual objects from the Museum's collection - some on public display for the first time.

Climb down the rabbit hole and step into Wonderland - a world full of fascinating items that give you an insight into Wellington's social, cultural and maritime stories with an eccentric twist. Join Vernon - the real-life personification of the Museum's collection management system - as he reveals the strange and whimsical objects that reside inside his world.

10 Years in Wonderland is on display from 21 November 2009 - 23 May 2010.

The Museum of Wellington City and Sea is housed in the historic Bond Store on Queens Wharf, the original architecture is the perfect home for the remarkable exhibitions of precious objects and memories of Wellington's wonderful past.

It is a museum for Wellington – the city, the sea and its people. It's 10 years old and we are all invited to the party!
