Museum of Transport & Technology - MOTAT
MOTAT is New Zealand's largest and leading transport and technology museum. Within 40 acres, and on two sites, MOTAT will take you on an interactive journey through many of the technological achievements that have helped shape New Zealand. Highlights include the world's only Mark IV Solent Flying Boat that used to take wealthy passengers to the Pacific Islands in the 1950's and one of the last remaining WWII Lancaster Bombers. Sir Edmund Hillary's tractor and Bruce McClaren's Cooper Climax are also on display.
There is also a Victorian Village, touring exhibitions, children's playground, cafe, Auckland's original Pumphouse (beautifully restored) and a working tram system.
