Ministry for the Environment
The Ministry works to achieve good environmental leadership and decision making at all levels so that it can deliver the environment that New Zealanders expect and deserve.
On its website you can find out about issues that affect the environment, environmental laws and treaties and the state of the environment. There's also information on what you can do for the environment, copies of publications and information about the organisation.
The Ministry plays a key role in preserving our heritage under the Resource Management Act (1991). It is also responsible for the Urban Design Protocol (2005).
