Cateye Moonride

The Cateye Moonride is on of the most amazing mountain bike event held in New Zealand’s MTB mecca the Whakarewarewa Forest in Rotorua.

There are three event options, 12 hours or 24 hours for solo riders or teams consisting of four or five riders and 6 hours for teams of 2 to 5 and solo riders. All events ride the same 8km (30minute) course which has been designed to cater for all abilities.

The Specialized 24 Hour event starts 10pm on Friday May 8th and the Avanti 12 Hour and Jungle Coffee 6 hour start at 10am on Saturday May 9th.

The Jungle Coffee 6 hour finishes at 4pm Saturday and both the Specialized 24hour and Avanti 12 hour finish at 10pm Saturday.

In addition to the new 6hour division the 2009 Cateye Moonride will also hold the North Island 12Hour MTB Club Championship for teams and solo riders. With all teams setting up camp for duration of the event, and prizes for the most colourful/creative campsite, along with spectacular mountain bike action the atmosphere and experience for both competitors and spectators alike is not to be missed.
