Erupt Lake Taupo Festival 2008

The ERUPT Lake Taupo Festival 2008 will deliver 11 days of world-class comedy, theatre, music, cabaret, film, visual arts, literature, gourmet food and community events inspired by the fiery elements of the central North Island volcanic plateau.

The ERUPT Lake Taupo Festival is the reincarnation of the biennial Lake Taupo Arts Festival, switching
this year from a February date to the autumn hue of May.

The ERUPT festival’s action-packed programme will feature a strong showing of New Zealand acts alongside invited artists from Argentina, Spain, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil and the USA.

The ERUPT Lake Taupo Festival 2008 will begin with The Big Bang, an explosive night of fire and light. A large-scale outdoor extravaganza, The Big Bang matches fire and light to the beat of live music and percussion and is designed to ignite 11 days of festivities.
