Macetown Historic Reserve
Macetown is the site of a historic (19th century) gold mining village. The main historically significant structures are Andersons Battery, Needhams Cottage and The Bakehouse. It is one of the most intact and accessible historic goldfield towns in Otago.
Located approximately 16km up the Arrow River from Arrowtown, you can get there independently on foot, mountain bike and 4x4, or on a guided tour.
