Echo Walking Festival - Kaimai to Coromandel
The Echo Walking Festival is an annual series of guided walks, showshowcasing walks in and around Katikati, Waihi, Paeroa, Te Aroha and Thames.
These walks are all run free of charge by local volunteer guides in conjunction with Sport Waikato, local councils, business groups and the Department of Conservation.
The message behind the 'ECHO' festival is to encourage people to Enjoy Connecting Hills and Oceans.
The Festival team are really excited about the variety of walking opportunities they are able to offer - but people should realise that most of these walks are open to the public year round.
A detailed schedule of walks will be available in January 2009 from information centres and online at www.echowalkfest.org.nz.
