Creative New Zealand
This government organisation is responsible for developing the arts in New Zealand. Its aim is to encourage, promote and support the arts throughout New Zealand for the benefit of all New Zealanders.
Creative New Zealand's work includes funding programmes, special initiatives, audience and market development, partnerships and research.
Creative New Zealand has six strategic priorities. These are about the mana of the arts, rewarding careers for professional artists, thriving professional arts organisations, cultural diversity in the arts, international growth for New Zealand arts, and participation in the arts.
Creative New Zealand was established as a crown entity under the Arts Council of New Zealand Toi Aotearoa Act 1994.
