Merivale Heritage Walks
Enjoy a walk around some of Merivale's historic buildings.
Merivale's architectural heritage has an interesting blend of both old and new. The Merivale Heritage Walks will focus on the architectural developments and history of the suburb between the 1940s and 1970s, with commentary on the people who lived and shaped this area.
The walks will leave from Carlton Hotel (near restaurant), corner of Papanui Road and Bealey Avenue.
Heritage Week aims to raise awareness of our special heritage places, and the importance and benefits of conserving them. 2008's theme is RETROspective: Christchurch life, architecture and design 1940s - 1970s. Get ready for some retro fun!
