BECA: Heritage Week Christchurch 2008

This year marks our 16th annual celebration of our unique cultural heritage and 2008's theme is RETROspective: Christchurch life, architecture and design 1940s - 1970s. Get ready for some retro fun!

These 30 years were eventful for Christchurch, contributing greatly to the character of our city today. We work, live in, or pass by these significant buildings everyday, but do we really think of them as 'heritage'?

We look forward to you joining us for a retro October whether its on the dance floor at the 1970's disco, at the outdoor movie night, touring some of our central city Modernist heritage buildings, or enjoying the debate about the merits, or otherwise, of Christchurch's heritage of the era.

Heritage Week aims to raise awareness of our special heritage places, and the importance and benefits of conserving them.
