Auckland Writers and Readers Festival

The Auckland Writers and Readers Festival is a festival of ideas celebrating books, reading and writing in its many forms.

Every May, the Festival brings together acclaimed local and international writers and thousands of readers in an innovative programme designed to inspire, entertain and evoke debate.

The festival was created in 1999 by a committed group of writers and book lovers and is now an annual event run by the Auckland Writers & Readers Festival Charitable Trust.

The 2008 festival will take place at the Aotea Centre, The Edge from Wednesday 14 May to Sunday 18 May 2008.
