Auckland University Press (AUP)

Auckland University Press is a dynamic and lively scholarly publisher.

It has for many years been a major publisher in New Zealand history and biography, Maori and Pacific studies and literary studies and is an important publisher of new poetry.

It has developed recent strengths in contemporary social and political issues, art history, media studies and has published two very successful books for children.

AUP has won major national awards in 22 out of the last 25 years, winning the Montana Book Award on three occasions and the leading New Zealand poetry award at least ten times. In 2003, Auckland University Press was awarded the Thorpe-Bowker New Zealand Publishing Award for Outstanding Achievement in the New Zealand Book Industry.

AUP is a foundation partner in the NZ Electronic Poetry Centre.
