Six Pack writing competition entries close soon
March 13th, 2008
Deadline for entries to this year’s Six Pack Competition near!!
It’s time to get writing! If you’ve got a great idea or you’ve done some excellent writing recently - whether it’s fiction, non-fiction, poetry or an excerpt from a longer piece of work - get it to the New Zealand Book Month Team as soon as possible. Anyone can enter. The Six Pack competition is open to all New Zealanders, whether you’re a published author or a novice. The deadline for submissions is 26 March 2008.
New Zealand Book Month have been running the Six Pack competition since 2006. Each year, a panel of talented New Zealanders select the shortlist and then the public is invited to vote for their favourite works. The Six Pack (2006) and The Six Pack Two (2007) were resounding successes. They both spent many weeks on the NZ Bestsellers Lists and have helped to launch the literary careers of new authors. The Six Pack books are also a fantastic read for a great price: six pieces of writing by NZ writers for a bargain $6!
So, now it’s your turn! Get scribbling and you too could be published in this anthology, be touted a celebrity during New Zealand Book month in September and win $5,000 in prize money.

I would like to know the deadline for the next competition. I guess it is March 2009? Thankyou. Are there any guidelines? Cheers
Hi there,
We’ve checked with the Book Month people who run the Six Pack competition and they aren’t sure of the closing date for next year yet.
But they did say, if you subsribe to their newsletter on their homepage - http://nzbookmonth.co.nz/ - you’ll be among the first to know.
Best of luck.
From the NZLive Team.
